We’re a family — and we built KidX for families like ours
KidX is a week-long preschool-exchange experience in Japan for families with children aged 3 to 6. The child attends a real local Japanese preschool for five days while the family stays nearby — free to explore, rest, work remotely, or simply reconnect. KidX was founded by Glyn and Ange, a couple based in Singapore who created the experience for their own two children first, and now share it with other families.

Why we built KidX
We began travelling with our own children when our eldest was just two months old. We believed that young children not only survive in new places, they thrive. KidX isn't just a business, it's a philosophy and it’s how we’ve raised our family.
A couple of years ago, we wanted our own preschoolers to experience life beyond the city. So we sent them to a preschool on the outskirts of Japan for a week. What we experienced was unforgettable. Our children climbed trees, splashed in streams, and made friends across a language barrier. They came home braver, more adaptable, and full of joy. And for the first time in a long while, we had time to reconnect as a couple. As a family, we strolled through the village, connected over meals, and savoured family moments
that felt richer than anything at home.
That week showed us something important:
Immersion in culture and nature is a gift every child deserves,
and families need a way to access it that feels simple, supportive, and fairly priced.
So we built KidX. With direct partnerships with preschools, coordinators passionate about sharing Japan, hassle‑free logistics, and pricing we wish we’d had ourselves.
This is the trip we wanted as parents:
A rhythm beyond the city for children, time to rediscover romance for couples, and memories for families.

Where we go
KidX currently welcomes families in Manazuru and Yamakita in Kanagawa, at the forest school in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, and at an English-speaking preschool in Toyokawa, Aichi. We are working hard to make Okinawa a reality soon.
